Committee Members, Managers and Helpers
I just wanted to take this opportunity to express my thanks to all those who have helped over the tournament weekend. The event has been a great success for a number of reasons -
- we got all the equipment set up in good time,
- the weather was pretty good most of the time,
- the difficult task of getting all cars parked worked very well,
- the football was played to a high standard with some excellent games,
- everyone I spoke to really enjoyed the event,
- the food and drinks were fantastic - well done to all the cooks and caterers!!!
- the fixtures were perfectly planned and kept to - well done alan/rhian
- the refs added to the tension in some games - better quality than the world cup!
- toilets were kept clean,
- everything was tidied away and it didn't look as if we had been there.
All this takes an enormous amout of planning, preparation and commitment which led to not only great football but a successful fund raising event and a great time for all who helped.
Whilst there are many people who I am very grateful to for helping, I do need to pass my personal thanks to Rhian and Alan (and kids), David and Dave (for each sleeping over 1 night to look after equipment), Sue and to all managers, their families and parents who had a great time working as a team to make the event happen.
The team spirit was fantastic and those that helped and worked for 10 to 12 hours on each day know who you are - a massive thanks on behalf of the club. You all showed great committment in keeping the subs that the players have to pay to be the cheapest in the leagues in which we play.
So, have plenty of rest and we'll do it all again next year !!!!
